We LOVE TO LEARN!! Yes Instruction is the topic and what we understand describes our methods of implementation. However I like to see it as a strategy. How will we approach our learners, where will we make changes, what happens when it goes awry which inevitably it will. What do I do for the various types of learners? It is like a chess piece, each piece has a different approach to playing the board, just as each student young or old has a different approach to learning. What is our plan of strategy? Let's break down key frameworks and strategies to help educators and trainers create effective learning experiences. Whether you're looking for a structured method, an agile process, or a goal-oriented strategy; explore proven techniques and maybe create your own to design engaging, learning experience for you and your audience.

ADDIE Model

Applies the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation,and Evaluation Models to create engaging programs that address technical needs.

Backward Design

Backward Design begins with the end goal in mind. Determine what you would like learners to know and then define objectives and goals to reach that goal then, decide how that would be measured. Finally, develop those tasks to measure performance, plan activities and lessons and strategies for learners to achieve the desired outcome.

Bloom's Taxonomy

Bloom's Taxonomy is an amazing hierarchical framework that categorizes levels of understanding to promote (HOTS or HIGH ORDER THINKING SKILLS), helping educators assess the rigor of their instruction and the learning outcomes of their students. Developed by Benjamin Bloom in 1950's guides engaging curriculum and assessments.

Computational Thinking

Iterative design process that uses algorithms (math) and computational tools(computers) to create and design solutions based on criteria(human). This combination of superpowers produces the best solutions with innovative and unique design outcomes that perhaps wouldn't occur previously.

Design Thinking

This methodology is fluid and not as linear as the other models. It empathizes with the end user and focuses on undefined complex problems that may occur during the use of the product. It is used for innovation and is broader than education it is used for product design, businesses, and healthcare.

SAM Model

Another form of instructional design is the SAM Model. It is more flexible and focuses on rapid prototypes. It constrasts with the traditional ADDIE model by focusing on interative development and making gradual improvements through small steps. There are 3 phases: Preparation, Design, and Develop.

I do, We do, You do

This is probably one of the simplest and most effective methods of instruction in the classroom. I model how to measure ph level in liquids, we model how to (experiment) measure the ph level in liquids, then you model or demonstrate your learning. That could be in the form of creating an experiment, a video explaination, the difference between acids and bases. Learner choice.
